Historical Origins of Reproduction Lanterns

Many of the lanterns that are handcrafted at the Copper Lantern are historical reproductions that hang in historical landmarks and line the streets and adorn the homes in colonial towns across America today.

This lantern was made and used all over the Boston area during the period termed "the oil period" in the years 1820 thru 1865. The original style lanterns were made by The J.Binney & Co. in Boston. These historically accurate pieces have been electrified for todays convenience.
